XVideos VR has a clean and organized interface that’s easy to use. They also keep the ads in check so that they don’t interrupt your experience. But if you think you’ve managed to completely get around paying for your VR porn, think again. Many videos are mislabeled VR, or have been improperly uploaded, affecting the quality of the video and the overall functionality of the VR feature.
XVideos is a well-established tube site where you can look up any number of niches, or even search for a particular model by name and then watch hundreds of thousands of free videos without any kind of sign up or subscription process. After about a year and a half since the first VR pay sites started popping up, people have been uploading their downloaded VR videos on tube sites so that everyone can enjoy them. This Wikipedia page has some additional information about the site.
XVideosVR is not an exclusive VR tube site.
As noble and selfless as this act can seem, it doesn’t come without its detractors. XVideosVR is not an exclusive VR tube site. While there are 45 pages of VR videos with 20 on each page, many of the ones that come with a VR tag have proven not to be VR at all. You can sort of tell which ones are and which ones aren’t by hovering over the thumbnail and catching a glimpse of various screenshots. Some don’t even have a VR tag so I don’t know how those fakes even got into the category.
But that doesn’t mean there are no VR videos! If my math is right, there has to be at least 100 functioning videos out of the 900 that come up with the VR tag. And I wouldn’t scoff at 100 free VR videos, that’s for sure. While the site has both a desktop and mobile version (both of which operate more than adequately), I primarily used my Android smartphone for this review so that I could quickly pop it into my Cardboard device and start watching.
I quickly realized that tube sites are almost by definition streaming sites and I thought I could immediately start watching the videos without having to download them. But when I started looking through the Cardboard headset, the video wasn’t properly positioned to produce the perfect VR effect you find with downloaded files. It was kind of like looking at a video from a really bad angle, even though the portion I could see did seem 3D. Too bad you can’t adjust the settings for streaming files. And the site doesn’t offer specific files for any particular device, so you’re going to have to download first and try your luck.
Thankfully most tube sites today have an easy download feature. For this site, you’re going to have to quickly go through the brief and credit card-free registration. Downloads are quick and problem-free and once you have the videos open in the VR app on your phone you’ll be able to adjust the viewing mode through the app settings to get the best VR effects. There are also some videos that have been improperly formatted or uploaded, so no matter how much adjusting you do, it just won’t look as perfect as it might have in its original form.
XVideos new VR page is great for being able to get your hands on some sweet hardcore VR videos for free.
As a tube site overall, XVideos is pretty decent. You can browse a convenient list of categories or use the advanced search. I experienced no annoying pop-up ads and the three ads that are on the site are neatly placed at the bottom of the page. Now, there’s not a lot of user interaction, but if you want you can go ahead and sign up, which will then allow you to upload your own videos, post comment, add videos to your favorites and build your own profile to engage with other members.
XVideos new VR page is great for being able to get your hands on some sweet hardcore VR videos for free. But there are tons of videos that are tagged VR and aren’t at all. Not only that, but the streaming function is less than ideal and even some of the files you’ll download just won’t work. When it comes to VR porn, it’s safe to say that you’re more often than not going to get what you’re not going to pay for.
